Hi Forum. I’m restoring a 79 Citabria. Serial number is 1159-79 Engine is 0-320 A2D

When we pulled the engine, the mounts were just the rubber bushings with back washers. However, now that we are ready to hang the engine after an overhaul, I’m replacing the mounts. Trying to understand the proper parts. Spruce does not show the A2D in the category for their Urethane Cone Style Engine Mount bushings like what I took off when pulled the engine (part 08-07393 for $6.95 each, so a total of 8 for $55.60) They show the Lord J-6230-1 Elastomeric Engine Mount for the A2D. These are $176.75 for each mount for a total of $707.00. Ouch

I’m reaching out to the formum because I’m just confused given what I took off vs what Spruce lists as the proper mount. It wouldn’t be a big deal to get the Lord Elastomeric except that they are SO much more expensive than the urethane mounts. Just would like your insight on what is proper and acceptable and if someone has replaced their mounts on the A2D, what have you used and where did you get them for the best value?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions and advice

Mine came with those expensive mounts. Disintegrated in 15 years. I put the Lycoming parts in there, and all seems normal. I would like to hear more about the Lord mounts - but what a pain they must be to install.

My inverted checklist: make sure the oil pressure is up, and look for normal excursion of the spinner with respect to the cowl.
