@Cowboys Air Ranch 84ME gets the credit for posting about this, I'm just reposting it here for future reference.

The website is Bold-Warrior.com and they've been developing 180 hp STC's for the Piper Warrior but have endeavored to apply their experience with the wood-spar 7 series Citabria aircraft.

www.Bold-Warrior.com

From their website;

Overview of Citabria STC Requirements:
  • Install O360-C4P or Install O-360-A4M, A3A, A4A, A4N with a motor mount change
    • Replace Airbox Components
    • Modify lower cowling
    • Replace Exhaust
    • Install Sensenich Propeller 76EM8-0
    • POH Update

That's all I know for now. They've been sent an email asking them to come by and provide more information about their STC so we'll see if they take me up on the invite.

After that the 160 C/S for the Decathlon should be a piece of cake.
Test flight this afternoon on the 150 C/S - I had forgotten how smooth this aircraft was - and faster than my 180 HP, at least according to the airspeed indicator.

you're living a charmed life down there in SOCAL flying all of these nice airplanes Bob! Do you even get a weather briefing anymore? CAVU and 75 degrees, same as yesterday, same as tomorrow.

Yesterday, 280/22G27 reported, and freezing (56 degrees) windsock showed a 30 degree x-wind.

First, the J3 - 75' takeoffs, 75' landings. Bear in mind that the actual landing rolls are from the threshold to where the mains stop, so the total rollout is closer to 55'.

Then the J4, which does not well tolerate taxi in high winds. Still, successful.

Great fun, and close enough to home that, if I made a mistake I could walk to the margarita place.
