March of 2021- N5053N arrived by trailer, wings off, tail feathers off ready to be put back together after having been taken apart in Jan 2015. During the time between 2015 and 2021 each subsystem had been taken apart, inspected and reassembled. The AEIO-360 was sent to Bolduc Engines for overhaul. What makes 53N unique is the airframe total time. Currently 540 hours. It arrived in my hangar with 451.7. First flight after reassembly was June 1, 2021 and went well. All systems operated as designed and engine break in was accomplished. I'll list a summary below.
SN 79-532
Lyc - 84 hours since overhaul
Hartzell CS prop overhauled in 2015 - time 84 hours since OH
Wood Spar AD complied with. Recurring inspection 100 hours/ Annual
Original Fabric and Paint- very above average. a few paint cracks on upper wing ribs.
Stripped and Painted Lift and Jury Struts last year
New Gray Airtex Interior and Black Carpet
Hooker Competition Harness Front and Rear
Baggage Net

Avionics: King KY-155 Com/Nav. Stratus ESG Transponder (ADSb in and out)
JPI EDM-830
Standard panel gages
USB port under panel
Whelen Strobes
David Clark Intercom System

Super D goes into an annual inspection on June 23rd
Still formulating an ask price.
Photos available by request.... [email protected]. I am out of town for the weekend and it may take a while to check email.
I've reached all my goals since the airplane arrived, trained some tailwheel students. Now it's time for the next custodian for this awesomely colorful machine to take possession. CCDF members get first notice of sale. I'll put it on Barnstormers on Tuesday.

From what I am hearing, ought to sell for that. My buddy just did the same thing - LyCon overhaul, new paint and interior, ADS-B and Garmin 225, and surprise! A dealer bought it (not sure, but I think $115K).

Bob was right. 53N went under contract yesterday. It'll have a new home on/near the Chesapeake Bay. The sun sets on one adventure- rises on another!

For the foreseeable, I'll keep flying the T-18 I built and keep my eyes open for interesting options....
