I have been trying to find an answer to my question about tires. I have looked everywhere, I think, but can't seem to find anything. I want to put 8.50 x 6 tires (legally if possible) on my 46 7AC converted to 7BCM. Continental 85. Stock gear, wheels and brakes. I know I don't "need" them but I have big tires on all my vehicles, so I "want" them. I would really appreciate any knowledge anyone has or would like to know if anyone has done it. I have posted this all over, so I might have even put it on this site. My computer skills are lacking. This could be a duplicate request.

Most just do it. Cleveland has heartburn with 8:50s - something to do with brake discs - but nobody seems to pay attention. I have never heard of a problem, either operationally or at annual.
Robbie Grove has a wheel and brake assembly STC'd for Cubs that accepts anything up to 26" Goodyear. Maybe if you really want to be legal get a field approval on the Champ for those?

For the stock Van Sickle/Cleveland rims and brakes you can put on 8.00x6.00 tires on per the TCDS (legally).
8.50 bush tires are, as Bob says, people just do it...
The 8.50's are $100.00 more per side and frankly don't wear well on hard surface runways.
