Does anyone know of a source for an old style fuel shut off valve. Mine binds so badly that it cannot be turned with the red knob. The tapered seat has minor wear showing. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Bill,

I might have a spare shut-off valve but I'm not sure if it's any better than what you have. I'll grab it the next time I head to the storage unit.

Surely there is a way to successfully re-lap these old things? I have never been 100% successful, but I suspect that the right cutting compound and some EZ Turn grease would make it leak proof? Most Cubs are going to the ball type.

i read there's an o-ring in there to replace and that some Fuel Lube helps but I haven't tried it so there's no guarantees. i can at least see if the one I have shows any signs of wear, if not, it might be a good candidate for a new o-ring

Bill, can you post photos of yours as it looks disassembled and the wear that you're describing in the first post?

Ill get a picture. It looks like the one on the right. The damage is very minor but the problem is that I cannot turn the knob to turn it on or off.
