Good morning dear Forum,
my name is Matthias, i am from Beautiful Austria (near Salzburg) in Europe, being an new
Citabria Member since 2 days (i already had PA18 and a wonderful 1944 RAF D Day Auster, restored with my dad)
I was able to buy OE-CEO 1978 SN 362-78 which has an quite unusual tall IFR Panel, but what i really would like
is to replace the Knot IAS to the original MPH IAS with its markings.

Anyone knows where i can get a Citabria MPH ASI with its marking, or anyone of you has got maybe one airwothy
example?

thanks a lot
Matthias!

Good morning and welcome to the forums!

You might want to try sending an email to Kim at Century Instruments in Wichita, Kansas, USA, they overhaul instruments and have some available for sale from their stock of used instruments. Their email address is [email protected]. They overhauled my airspeed indicator and g-meter and I bought an overhauled altimeter from them as well.

Good luck and let us know how it works out for you :)

Thank you for the warm welcome in here,
what a wonderful sorce and gathering of flyers helping out!!

also for the advise of Centuryinstruments will get in contact to them, as i really want a original MPH ASi with Knots as small dual face.

Next i have to look where to buy the online Maint. Manuals, Spare part cataloge and POH for the 1978 Citabria
versions.

I hope to post some amazing Mountain Pictures soon of my Citabria as we live in a wonderful mountenous area!

blue skies
Matthias!

Wow, fantastic airplane! Living in the mountains, flying old airplanes. Tough life.

If you have not searched e-bay, I would start there. There are a ton of old avionics and instruments for sale. You could also search the Texas Air Salvage and Wentworth websites. Wentworth lists a lot on e-bay and they are known for reliable, quality resales.

I have not been to Salzburg, but have been to Chiemsee in Germany. Also, here is a picture of me in the Tyrol, with the Piz Buin glacier on the Austrian-Swiss border in the background. Was doing Army training with the Austrian Gebirgsfuhrer cadre.

Is your new plane a 7GCAA?

Yeah it is a 7GCAA, and thank you for the FAA dereg link, it went to Austria (instead of Australia) but its great to see a little history on in in the US!
If you are a Facebook member, you can search for "Erich Lemmerer" (my dad) and you see what crazy stuff we do....

@Biged great photo you share in here during your "Gletscherausbildung" .. Yeah we have snow in the alps... therefore i think of getting some ski for the plane.. and also the glider hitch equipment...

i already sent an email to centuryinstruments to ask for the MPH/Kts Citabria version...
