I had 8:50’s on my 7GCAA and was told there is no STC for them or any other directives indicating there use. We noticed on the inside of the tires ther was a very slight grove which appeared to be coming from the tire making contact with the brake housing periodically. This is what started all this. Any suggestions as I prefer the larger tires for my type of flying. Thanks, Jim Briggs

I have them on right now. I thought I posted about them here but right now all I can find is about my U-bolts.

There are two STCs. The one you want is free, but specifically calls for 4 ply, "type III". The Desser Aero Classic is such a tire.

I'm on a weekend getaway with my favorite woman so I'll have to dig later. In the meantime scour the STC section on this forum and you'll find it.

The family who owns the STC allowed it to be used for free. Print it out and take it to your A&P.

The other STC is owned by the Alaska bush wheel folks.

Thanks all for your responses and input. Looks like I will be able to get this worked out. Jim Briggs
