I have a 76 8KCAB and am working on the fuel strainer/gascolator. I am trying to find part numbers for the O rings. I found a part number 2-2091-3 for the whole assembly but can't seem to find any breakdowns of the unit.

Thanks

1. Call Chad at ACA parts. They changed their gascolator years ago, but he keeps a stash of o-rings and seals for various older versions of things.

2. I would bet the o-rings are mil standard parts, so you should be able to locate by measuring the ID, OD, and thickness.

3. Folks on the Interwebs are pretty vocal about Steves Gascolators being a significant upgrade. 8KCAB is on Steve's AML, but strangely listed under "Aeronca".

Thanks guys. The original plan was to just use standard gaskets. I was wondering what everyone else uses. I ordered the Rockwell gaskets. I will report back as to their fit.

A bit OT, but what is your firewall fitting? I have the OEM parts, which is a plumbing elbow, nipple, and gasket. It does not do a very good job of sealing the firewall though. I bought a flanged fitting but have not installed yet. It slightly changes geometry of the gascolator and fuel line from the shutoff valve, so looks like it will be a bit of a project.

You can only see the firewall Fitting from inside the cabin. As you can see from the photo you cannot tell what the firewall fitting is from the engine compartment. I will take a picture from the backside of the firewall tomorrow

I'm pretty sure that's what I did for mine which is the same as the one in the original post.

Roger, 99% sure you have the same setup as me. I posted a thread somewhere on this site with pics.
