Hi all,

The AFM for a late 70's 8KCAB has a lit of placards that have to be in full view of the pilot but I don't see any instrument panels out there with this much verbage displayed on them. Has anyone seen placards like this in a 70's vintage 8KCAB?

Here's one
Solo From Front Seat Only. No Acrobatic Maneuvers, Including Spins, Approved In Normal Category.
Day Or Night VFR Operation Only. Flight Into Known Icing Prohibited. To Recover From Normal Or
Inverted Spin, Use Full Opposite Rudder and Neutralize Elevator.

Here's another
This Airplane Must Be Operated As a Normal Or Acrobatic Category Airplane In Compliance With The
Operating Limitations Stated In The Form Of Placards, Markings, And Manuals. Markings And Placards
(Except Accelerometer Markings) Refer To Normal Category Only. See Airplane Flight Manual For
Acrobatic Category Information, Weight and Balance Information, And Other Operating Limitations.

Here's an easier one that I have seen on panels
Normal Category Airspeed Limits
Maneuvering Speed 121 MPH (105 Knots) CAS
Demonstrated Crosswind Velocity-- 20 MPH (17 Knots)

I'd be curious to see what's out there in the way of placards on Bellanca 8KCAB's. Thanks!

also, I'd be interested in hearing opinions on whether or not placards have to be formatted exactly as they are in the AFM. (y)

Let me look again - I think only the stuff in quotes needs to be placarded. My AFM is on the scanner, just waiting for a massive infusion of ambition.

Yes, all that is in quotes, and needs to be posted. Some FSDOs are really hot about placards, and a missing one will send you to either Guantanamo or Hell, depending . . .
Here, not so much. They mostly just sort of reasonably watch. Once in a while, someone will get a wild hair . . .

Yeah I looked at pictures. Mine has a solo fm front seat only, and day, night VFR ops only. And something about operating with so many vortex generators missing. My pics do not cover those. All other placards are fwd of the switch panel.

Bart, if I were doing a full resto like you, I would just buy the complete sheet from ACA. Chad showed it to me when I visited. Costs about $100 if I remember correctly.

Ed, I might do that but I am making a silk screen for the CB/switch labels and want to also do the panel mounted placards with the screen. if it doesn't work out I'll call Chad or go some other route.

The vinyl placards look ok too, thanks for the link to that @avpro91

I had really good luck with laser printer UV proof vinyl labels, and printing them myself for my glider.
