I've just had my Super D delivered - by truck. N5053N is s/n 532-79 and has 457 hours Total time. It lived most of it's life in West Texas then went to Minnesota when the long term owner passed. The now previous owner spent many weekends going through all the systems and having the engine and prop overhauled.
Fast forward to now and 53N is sitting in the hangar ready to get put back together. There's a 0 time AEIO-360 and fresh overhaul Hartzell prop ready to pull this Super D through the air. The fabric and paint are in surprisingly good condition. With any luck, I'll have it back in the air just after Sun N Fun.

Sweet. I'm down in Tampa. I fly over your area frequently enroute to Gulfport or Hattiesburg, MS. Sometimes get a Blue Angels airshow when transiting Pensacola Class C. Which airfield are you based at?

One of my stronger memories of the area was almost freezing to death in a swamp on Eglin AFB back in '89 during Ranger School.

The current status of 5053N. Soon to be airworthy once again. Based at FL17 in Niceville

Yesterday we were able to run the engine. It’s a fresh overhaul by Bolduc Aviation- fresh in 2015 , test run and then pickled. I used the starter to get oil pressure with the lower plug out. Once the plugs were back in, mags hot- 4 blades and she started and ran well. It only required an idle adjustment. Today’s work will be to install the rest of the new airtex interior. The door will be put on and then it’s ready to fly.

What stuff did you get from AirTex? I'm thinking of going that route. Wish they would come up with a 21st century ordering system though.

Would anyone have an equipment list that I could use as a reference. The plan is to have the a/c weighed, but it would be nice to have stations and weights for any panel changes in the future. Thanks

I have an equipment list in the AFM for my 78 Super D. Away from home at the moment but I can scan and send to you next week.

Do yourself a favor, and do not put the results of a weigh-in on a 337 or in the logbook. It is perfectly legalas a stand-alone document, and might help a useful load computation down the line.

I think the Decathlon is ok, but if you weigh a Cub or an early Champ, it automatically becomes a single place aircraft. Nobody knows where that extra hundred pounds comes from!

I have an equipment list. Let me see if it will help to post it. Nobody cares about radios, etc., but some aircraft have to list brakes, tailwheel, carb heat, etc.

I got it, and scanned it successfully. Well, the Greek scanned it. As soon as she is through with MSN and the movie stars, I will attempt to post it.

Now that I am looking at it, it looks like it is for a 7ECA with N-# I do not recognize, but it will give you an idea of what Bellanca thought an equipment list looked like.

No, Ed is correct - it is in the AFM, which you absolutely need. Go to page 24-28. Here is mine - it is probably standard. The front page of your AFM will have your serial number, a date, and the signature of an inspector.

I tried to get them to show up. They don't open on my ancient iPad. Let me know if they don't work.

I’ve got the side panels, carpet and front and rear seats. The nice seats that have Velcro and allow you to remove the bottom or back depending on which parachute style you many have.

The scanned AFM docs came through great. Additionally, we were able to get the balance of the items finished today. N5053N flew again this afternoon- having been in pieces since early 2015.

Wow, you moved fast. Great feeling to get an aircraft back in the air that has been sitting.

Looks a lot like Ferguson Field. Lovely airplane. Makes me want to get out the yellow paint.

Congrats Terry! I happen to really like the colors and, like everyone else, I'm impressed with what quick work you made of it all. Enjoy!
