Hi there,
Going to be installing 8.50's on my 7ECA, and as such the wheel pants will be coming off. Can someone point me in the right direction for finding the correct wheel nut that doesn't have the wheel pant support on it?

Thanks in advance!

I should do that. For some reason that cylinder hanging out has not bothered me yet. I wonder if a 1 1/2" Super Cub nut would fit? I just gave away four of those.

I should have put a caliper on the threads while I was out there today... I'll swing by tomorrow or Sunday and see what size it is.

unless it just bothers you, there's no harm in using the wheel nut that's on there from the wheel pants. if nothing else, you won't lose it for when someone wants to put the pants back on!

Strongly agree with Bob on U bolts. Replace with new style bar bolts ASAP. Many stories of U bolts failing, and when they fail you get a new engine, prop, and maybe a wing.

Look and see what those nuts are worth before you pitch them it will shock you.
Won't be throwing them away! Will store with the wheel pants.

Totally-- It's just an aesthetic thing for me. If the standard wheel nuts are inexpensive, I figure why not.

Is this what your looking at??
Yup! Except mine looks like this:

Here's the info from my Citabria manual. Looks like #12 (1-706) is the nut you're looking for. Other components including hub caps are also depicted if you're wanting to go all out but I wouldn't know about their availability. I'll bet Chad at ACA can fix you up. Personally, I also just run the cylindrical nuts that go with the pants.IMG_9864.webpIMG_9865.webpIMG_9866.webp
