BatteryMINDER Interface

I'd like to install in our 8KCAB a cable that runs from the battery solenoid to front of the rear seat frame so that we can connect a BatteryMINDER while the airplane is in the hangar. I purchased the interface kit. I was tempted to use an SAE O-ring connector, but aircraft parts must be used in a certified airplane. Has anyone installed this kit (or fabricated an interface) and can provide suggestions for routing? I want an easy access so that the BatteryMINDER can be plugged in by opening the cabin door (no baggage door, unfortunately). My notion is to avoid routing it under the baggage compartment carpet. I'm averse to running a cable underneath a carpet on which a load will occasionally be placed.

probably a good idea to not have it between the carpet and the floor boards. not sure what the legality is for the ring terminals being bolted into the electrical system with the parts being non-aviation grade. having said that, my 7ECA has a Battery Tender installed but the battery is on the firewall so it's much simpler.

Thanks; as I understand it from VDC Electronics, the parts that comprise the "aircraft interface kit" are all aircraft-grade to satisfy the requirements for installation in a certified airplane. No STC or 337 required, only a logbook entry by an A&P. I won't do the work myself, but will ask the shop to fabricate a cable from the kit for a custom installation.

saw your post on FB, that's a good idea I guess, using the seat leg as the ground and then running the + side to the battery lug.

I guess that's a good idea if you cannot fly month to month. I get 8-10 years out of a Concorde sealed battery, without a "minder", but I fly once a week.

Those around here who do use the battery minders between flights get around two years useful life out of their batteries. Not sure why, and no, I have not taken rigorous data.
