So I’m putting together my 7-ECA project and I ordered a clear skylight as I wanted one… did t even think about getting it grey or uv but it came and was fitted

next I realized my windows were not going to be that great so I ordered grey uv coated left and right front windows…. Didn’t even think about the option of bubbled shape). They arrived after about 6 weeks, now I’m contemplating not using them and going for the bubbled design… am I crazy?

get whichever ones you want and don't second guess it. if we held off on every detail until we were 100% sure in order to avoid these kinds of problems, planes would never get done. the project goes until the plane is done and all of the extra parts are sold off! i've got plenty! lol

I guess my question (having never actually seen the difference ….. is really if it’s worth it

As far as I know there are 3 types of side windows for the Citibrthon series of heavier than air machines...
The flat, plain, uninteresting type.
The slightly bubbled, bulging type that are just different enough to be noticed but don't do anything special.
Then you have the "patroller" type that would allow you to stick your whole head over the side to see what's below without messing up your hair.
These are ugly but functional.
These are your choices...
Choose wisely...🙃🙃🙃

I can't answer that but I would probably want mine to be replaced with the same if I needed to replace them and mine are bubbles.

I guess I have the semi-bubble then.

I don’t really know what a true bubble window is, but my Decathlon has slightly bulging side windows, and I really cannot tell the difference. Flew a 180 with bulging windows and never really used them - they have some distortion.

If you are not flying pipeline patrol, I’d guess they are just extra drag.

I'll be interested to hear how you like your clear skylight. In the summer, I have to cover my tinted one-- I can't imagine what it would be like with a clear one.
