Hello pilots, renters, owners, and admirerers of All citabria ,Aeronca and champ aircraft. My name is Joe and I’ve been flying the type since 1989. 7ECA, 7KCAB, 8KCAB, as rentals. I’ve owned a 1979 7GCBC and currently a 2005 7GCAA.

I have heard that the 160 hp GCAA is the best of the lot. If I had that many discretionary bucks I would have a Super Cub with 160 hp, Keller flaps, Dakota slots, and under 1100# empty. But you have the best Champ!

The decathlon was pretty nice. I really like the gcbc too. Actually I liked the fuel injected kcab as well. As for the 7ECA, anemic climb with two aboard but a fast plane in the air . So really I like them all. Gcaa is a good bird. I love her.

Yeah - don't forget that the little 115 hp bird burns six gals an hour. Cheap flight time. When you own an aircraft, gas and oil are the only variables, and flying often reduces maintenance costs per hour quite a bit.
