Door and Side window rubber seal?

I am thinking that removing the plexiglass from the door and the left side window is going to be required to properly prep and paint the frames. The rubber seal around the window is showing its age. Has anyone replaced theirs? I didn't see an obvious item on univair's website. I need to go find my parts manual and see if it is listed there. Looks like a case of drilling out rivets in the aluminum frame to remove the plexi and then I'll be free to sand, prime, paint those.

Looks like the part numbers are CH-35 and CH-135 for the side window and the door window. I found the CH-35 at Spruce. Maybe the 135 is just a typo. At $1.35 each, I think I can buy a spare just in case it is wrong.

My front windows don’t have any seals around them? Just a thin bead of silicone. 1.35 a foot is expensive! American champion sells the correct stuff for a better deal

I’m not sure if the price was for a foot or the seal. It didn’t say per foot, which usually those items are shown as such. I figure I can order one on my next spruce order and see if I get a complete seal or 1 ft of seal material.

I do need at least one thing from the factory though, so might tack on the seal as well.

If you add it to the cart it shows that it is 1.35 per foot.

ahh, makes sense. $1.35 is way to cheap for anything in aviation the size of a window.

I just removed out my left and right rear windows for painting. Was apprehensive, but it turns out to be ridiculously easy. Remove interior and exterior trim pieces at the front leading edge, bow the front edge outwards, and the plexiglass slides forward and out of the channel. Have not reinstalled, but it appears to be the reverse.

I could not find CH-35 directly listed, but Aircraft Spruce p/n 05-02200 seems to match up. Dimensions are 1/16" groove and 3/8" height. Can anyone confirm that is correct?

I also pulled the round channel out that seals the front left window to the frame when the window is closed. Does anyone have a p/n for that?

Can someone tell me which glue is used on the door and window seals?

No glue necessary on the rear windows; the seal channel is a friction fit on the edge of the plexiglass, and then is captured by the frame channel. Having said that, a very small dab of something easily removable on the edge of the plexiglass at the corners might make the assembly process less aggravating.

I used 3M yellow weatherstrip adhesive on the door and side window seals.

The left front window on my 1976 8KCAB only has about half of its seal left and I'd like to replace it. I ordered a strip of it from ACA, but when I took it out to the hangar today I found that it is not like the seal that is still on the frame side. However, I noticed there was also a partial piece of stripping on the window itself that seems to match the piece Chad sent me.

So now I'm wondering what the original installation was. One size seal in the channel of the frame and smaller seal on the window itself? Can anyone please let me know? A photo of the right setup would be terrific!

One thing is for sure - Bellanca was smart enough to use off-the-shelf seals. You might cruise around a good hardware store or antique auto shop?

This is the best work in progress shot that I have. You can see the weather stripping that I had not put on the window yet.
The correct glue according to the factory is 3M 080081 Or maybe 08008?? But they have it at autozone around here.

it gets glued to the window and then you rivet the frame back on.

I hope these pictures of the seals from my 79 ECA the smaller seal is from the front windows the larger seal is from rear windows, the replacement seals provided by ACA don’t remember the part number the picture with two seals in my hand the old one is right is new one. The front seal is 7 feet 3 inches each so I would order 16 feet to have extra. Good luck
