Where is your ELT mounted? My missing ELT was originally mounted to the baggage compartment floor. I am thinking about moving the replacement a little farther back. Where does ACA mount them now? Where are they putting the antenna?

Mine is on the baggage compartment floor. Antenna wraps around the device.

Current frame specs for ACA have a tab for an ELT antenna on one of the vertical tubes in the baggage area.
 
I have an extended baggage. My ELT is mounted on the top of that. Only accessible by removing the upper aft wall panel. The antenna is mounted externally on the back, about mid ship.
 
Mine was bolted just aft and to the right of the rear seat - right where the seat belt could activate it if dropped carelessly. Fortunately, I rarely go beyond 50 miles, and all of my flying is for "training." I no longer have to drive to the airport at midnight to turn the thing off.

Ed, it sounds like you have an old Narco -01...
The antenna that wraps around the battery is the "walkie-talkie antenna for use should you desire to take the ELT with you away from the crash site.
If it IS the old Narco it still should have an external antenna/coax cable attached...
If it's not a Narco I stand corrected...

I mounted mine on the left side floorboard between the rear of the back seat and the rear cabin wall with the mounting hardware going into the reinforcements under the floorboard itself. The antenna is mounted to an aluminum ground plane inside the plane just aft of the baggage compartment. ELT is an ACK E04 406 without the gps input...

I'm also thinking about the ACK E04. I've got a Garmin GTX335 transponder with GPS from another project that I plan to install. I'm hopeful to supply GPS data to the ELT from the Garmin transponder. For the moment I'm wanting to route any wiring I may need before I put the floor back in. I'm debating between the baggage compartment floor with antenna right above it or building a mount just past the battery tray and routing the antenna farther back three feet past the com antenna. If the new ACA antenna mounting tab is mounted to a tube in the baggage compartment does that mean there is not a ground plane?
 
there is no ground plane, the ELT antenna mount is a tab welded to the tube near the ground lug for the battery

I like the location, but I think this would put me right under my com antenna. Did ACA relocate the Comm antenna to another location?
