Knee jerk reaction here - you are looking at a practically new aircraft. Check the price of a factory new similar aircraft and decide based on that.

I understand that used wood spar Decathlons have jumped considerably in value - mine is insured for $52K and I am told it should be in the '70s. It does basically the same job as a new one, but things break more often. Last year it was the electric fuel pump. Handleable, for the difference in initial cost.

I have a tough time justifying $180K for such a simple machine. But compared to factory new, it's a good deal, and the market seems to support it.

An alternative would be getting a ragged out airplane at 50K and throwing 100K into a factory restoration.
 
Problem with that is it doesn't raise the value of, say, a 1977 bird, even with new wings, to $150K. Better to buy the new one - but watch out for the metal spar ADs and service bulletins.
