Foreflight Black Flyday Deals!!!

Thanks for the heads up Bart. I recently purchased a Stratus 3 so I can keep my options open regarding compatibility with most any navigation app. I was sold on Wing X because it's free to CFI's and military but it kept crashing when introduced to synthetic vision. Their customer service has responded and said this will be corrected with the next revision.

That being said, I have used ForeFlight for the past year and have no complaints other than the price. It will be used strictly for VFR purposes and I'll probably never file/comply with another flight plan (retiring from the airlines next year) so I'm not sure it's worth the price. I recently downloaded Garmin Pilot and hope to become comfortable with it (taking advantage of the free 30 day trial) and at a slightly lower cost.

I use FlyQ bought it over 8 years ago on Black Friday sale I think $400 area IFR and VFR lifetime great program I understand the Foreflight is more for professional pilots.

I tried GarminPilot but didn't learn to love it. Someone had told me that Foreflight is going to be evolving to look more like Jeppesen FD Pro which is what we use at my airline job so I tried it and it just seemed easy and very intuitive once I figured out where the stuff I needed was. VFR only for me too but just everything is right there from weather and airport downloads to route info, winds aloft, etc. so I've been happy with it. Need an airplane so I can actually use it but I'm working on it.

Foreflight's decision to be Apple-only makes it is a non-starter for me.

I used Garmin Pilot until my GDL 50 died and I discovered it could not be serviced.

Moved on to IflyGPS, which I read liked. Until it froze in flight at night when I needed info in a hurry. Twice.

So back to the drawing board.

Huh, haven’t heard that about looking more like FD Pro. We use that at work too and I really like it as well.

I bought an iPad mini 6, it flush mounts in the panel, has the best display, weighs just about nothing and costs a fraction of what a G3X costs! I know I keep saying it but it's a no brainer!

you know, I heard it but it I never thought it looked like FD Pro either! Foreflight is pretty intuitive though, I set it up and took it from NJ to OK a few days later, worked beautifully.
