For this year's annual I think I want to install a flow restrictor and a flexible line in place of the scary stainless tube. Any part # suggestions?

Call ACA and get the snubber. Works great and dirt simple to install. Be sure to get the appropriate elbow fitting too.

I obviously was watching that thread, but do not remember reading Ed's ultimate solution.

My local Lycoming gurus tell me it is nothing more than an orifice. The "snubber" is a great idea - an orifice and a flow check valve. That is what I really should do.
I have heard of fires starting due to a cracked stainless line.

The snubber is a flow restrictor that uses an extremely fine mesh. The mesh is calibrated for the material being metered. I would guess the flow rate is not more than a drop every 5 or 10 seconds. Certainly not enough to feed a fire of any magnitude.

The elbow is a conventional fuel injector orifice. That provides backup in case the mesh fails. Both available from Chad at ACA.

I got the snubber to dampen out my oscillating FP gauge. It works fantastic for that. I had planned on converting the FP gauge to an electric sender to get the stainless line out of the cockpit. However, after seeing how much the snubber restricts fuel flow, I decided it was not necessary. Any fire would be limited to the amount of the fuel in the line.
