My fuel shut-off valve is leaking on my 7gcaa. It appears I need to remove the gascolater then remove everything from under the panel as one large unit. Is that the best way? I was hoping it could be removed from under the panel without all that. My book has no reference the valve.

where is it leaking? if it is out the shaft of the valve, there is one o-ring that seals it. drain the fuel and unscrew the packing nut that the valve shaft goes through. inspect the plug and shaft for grooves or gouges, clean it out and replace the o-ring. should be fine

Thanks for the help. After I drove out the roll pin for the shut off valve rod I found a nut that allowed me to remove the shaft in the valve. It had a small "O" ring. I don't remember the part number for the fuel resistant o ring, but it was a number 7 ring. I put a new one on and used valve grease and it fixed the leak. Now I'm back in the air. Now I need a good cross country to break in the engine.
