I have a '97 GCBC, installed light weight battery and prop, still weighs almost 1480 empty. Add to that I am considering installing a belly pod (32 pounds empty) and the useful load sucks! Is there any STC or engineering data out there for a gross weight increase?

Your gross weight is 2150. So you currently have 670 lbs. 36 gallons is of fuel is 212 leaving 458 lbs. baggage is 100 so 358. More than my wife and I weigh combined. No other model in the citabria line comes close. Most Supercubs I fly don”t come close.
that said. You do get a 2600 lb gross weight for”agricultural” use. So bring some apple seeds along with you and sprinkle them along the way.

How many Super Cubs are you flying these days?

The one I am familiar with has a 400# UL (shhhh).

The one you are speaking of we only fly solo with 1/2 fuel. Thank goodness all of our passengers only weigh 80 lbs;)

Still trying to find a window to get the j3 cub south. Talk about limited useful load.

It will do fine. Mine can easily carry two 200# guys and 23 gallons. Of course I never DO that.
