Anyone know if it is thermoformed plastic? Mine is warped but not badly. Wondering if a heat gun to soften and press might clean it up, rather than springing for a new one.

Mine was riveted aluminum under stretched vinyl. I re-covered it about ten years ago, and only mistake was thinking I had to cut notches where it folded around underneath the lip. 1977; high panel.

Mine is plastic, just wondering about properties when heated. I have made some stuff out of kydex, which is super easy to work with. Pop it into the oven at 220 and it becomes limp in 5 minutes. Drape and press, and it is rigid when cooled.

Not practical for a glare shield, but wondering if I could fix small problem areas by softening with a heat gun and pressing. Some plastics do not react well to heat.

I did the same, made a new aluminum panel and covered it with vinyl. 1974 low panel.
