Thanks for the reply MA, is it Mark? Mike? Matt?
If the coating on the floorboards is epoxy then marine epoxy should stick to it with a little scuffing and a good cleaning. In the interest of moving things along and possibly finishing next week I'm going to just mount the heel plates and leave the surface as is. If there's any noticeable wear when it's in annual next year I'll address it then but they look pretty new right now after being under the carpet since installation. Another layer of epoxy would be nice but there's still other stuff to be done and my schedule cleared for next week and it's getting close!
