Hi just joined. Learned to fly in a Scout, a little Champ time. Currently own a J3 with a c90. Want to learn about Suoer D.
 
My goal is to learn what to look for in buying a Super D. I know the trashed plane via gas tank leaks. And hoping to learn more trucks l8ke that.

Mine is a 1977, and came from Vern Dallman, who hosted aerobatics sessions on his family airport in Northern Calif.
There is a 150 C/S metal spar Decathlon for sale here. It cruises just as fast as the 180.
If I were to do it again, I would see if the type cert. now supports the 160 Lyc - a better engine for anon-competition aircraft.
The tanks that give problems are the newer ones - 2002 and up, I believe. Very expensive to fix.
 
Hey I am portly and need some ability to carry 2 in non aero. Can you tell me about the one for sale? Is it on this site?

The Champs are all legally limited as far as weight goes - but way back a long time ago I flew a 350 lb guy around San Diego. Airplane did not notice. As far as I know the 150 Dec is not listed anywhere yet. I don't know what she wants for it.
 
Yes I have flown my J3 Cub a couple of “oz” Over gross.so yes these little tail dragged s can carry a lot.

If he Lady puts it up on the market let me know.

It is on the market - just not published yet. She is definitely selling. I can probably demo it.
