Greetings,
Thanks to Bart for flagging me down off the Facebook group. My better half bought a 1974 GCBC project back in February. Fuselage is mostly done and the guy we got it from is really a detail oriented master craftsman, so it was an easy decision to pick this up. Then easy to feel overwhelmed once we started moving parts from his hangar to ours. Holy crap there were a lot of parts for an airplane that looked semi-complete.
6 months later and I'm finally getting the right wing reassembled. Lost a couple of months of time due to a broken shoulder, but I have been working really hard on it these last few weeks. Primered the Milman spars and all the ribs with Stewarts EcoPrime. Steel pieces had already been cleaned and powder coated before we acquired them. Black powdercoating didn't make my A&P buddy too happy "can't see cracks in the black paint" but the contrast does look nice.
Pictures are up on a Google Album.

We've got something of a fleet at this point so the Citabria will be a fun addition once flying. Oh and it has a towhook already installed. Great news since we fly gliders as well. Our fleet consists of her Discus A, our Duo Discus, a Glasair 2RG and now the 74 GCBC.
I'm thinking I will probably buy the Milman leading edge kit for it as well. Haven't gotten far enough along to need to make that commitment yet, though looking at others projects on here, I probably need to order that soon.
Cheers,
Morgan
