My grandparents owned a 1946 Champ and once I got my license at 19 they gave it to me. I haven’t flown in almost 10 years since I joined the military but now that I’m out, I’m looking to get back into it. They were having it restored in Florida and the person who was restoring it decided they didn’t want to finish the project so now it’s just been sitting in storage for a couple years. Now that I’m more settled I’m hoping to find someone to finish the restoration in florida and have it flown to Kentucky so I can get to fly the plane that my grandfather used to. I don’t have many photos but will post what I have.

Looks good, if you were in TN I’d say let’s put it together. Check the club at the sun and fun and see if the kids would like the experience. Just an idea.

FWIW I have to believe putting all the pieces in a Uhaul and driving it to Kentucky for reassembling might be not only the cheapest in the long run but would allow you to fix any problems as they occur during rebuilding. And trust me, a lot of things are going to not only need but deserve your personal attention!
A weekend and a 32' box van and you'll have your grandparents plane at your fingertips!
You'll probably get a really good van rate due to everyone moving South to Florida...they might give you the gas if you bring a truck back up North...
