Owner of a new to me 1947 Aeronca L-16A/7BCM, C85-8 w/O-200 crank, rods, cylinders. Pure VFR fun. Before it flies, the wing spars are being replaced due to cracks found during the pre-buy inspection. Going with Milman aluminum spars and will upgrade to two 13 gallon wing tanks. With all that fuel, planning to use Bill Pancake STC to increase gross weight to 1320 lbs.

Still have mechanical brakes? I converted one to Grove when it became clear that used wheels were worth more than gold - changed the entire ground personality of that aircraft.

I might have told you - I picked up a Champ in the Denver area and ferried it to San diego. Nicest Champ I ever flew. O-200, wood modern design Sensenich prop, lots of extra fuel, starter motor.
All I can say is "Honorary Cub!" It wasn't very fast, but it would go straight up.
They had covered it in a lightweight Stitts cloth that was offered for a few years. I was not familiar with it, but it looked pretty good.
