I had a 2021 Carbon Cub FX3 that I built and sold… that’s a story for another day!

I recently replaced the FX3 with a 2014 Denali Scout. I’m loving it so far!

I just added smoke to it! I had to replace the old transponder and GDL88…. I’m adding a few other goodies. I’ll post more pics when I’m done.

p.s. I’ve already peeled the STOL stickers off the tail.

Stunning! Especially the spinner!

As a Cub owner and Super Decathlon owner, and low time Carbon Cub pilot, I am wondering why the Champ makes you happier than the X-Cub?

Hi Bob. It was an FX3 not an XCub but to answer your question…: 1.) FX3 has electronic ignition… no mags. Lose that and it’s land ASAP. 2.) I didn’t get coached to coat the frame during my build and the aircraft would have been based in Florida… I was losing sleep over potential corrosion issues. The Scout has a coated frame.

Honestly the FX3 is a cool plane… but I’m excited about the strong lineage of the Scout and the extra 30 hp doesn’t hurt either.
