Hi, I'm Tony currently residing in SW Florida at 94FL. I purchased a new 7GCBC in 1999 while living in NC. This thing has been a joy to own and fly! My Citabria has transitioned me into some interesting taildraggers,,, one being manufactured by North American. Looking to share ideas for flying, maintaining and loving our aircraft.
Hi, Tony. Welcome aboard. But you can't just drop "warbird", "interesting taildraggers", and "one being manufactured by North American" without sharing "the rest of the story..." Come on, man! Out with it!
Ha! Along with the delightful Piper, Cessna and and a few Stinson taildraggers I have flown,I owned a North American BT-14 for almost twenty years. It started life as a Canadian Yale. I hung a Pratt R-985 and converted it to the BT-14. Basically a little engined, fixed gear T-6. I know, not a Mustang, but it sure feels good calling "North American" in the pattern.
New to this site. I'm a tail wheel instructor based at a grass field in central Iowa (6Z6). My 7ECA is down for its annual but should be back in service in a few weeks. One cylinder's pressure had been trending lower, so we sent it off to the repair shop and are awaiting the diagnosis. I believe it'll be, "Hey, there's a slug of lead in here." My '46 7AC Champ is still flying...well, hiding in a hangar waiting for real spring to arrive. More pictures and info at my website paulberge.com Thanks.
