Owing to the declining season and my need to get all my painting done @ 65° and above I uncharacteristically went to the airport this fine Saturday morning to work on the Champ.
I suppose I should have taken it as a bad omen when I was eating donuts and coffee at the hangar and a donut exploded and deposited white powdered sugar all over my blue jeans and black t-shirt...
But no.
Then my band saw blade broke while making an inspection cover and wadded itself up around the drive wheels...
Then the rubber (safety) tip on my blow gun popped off and shot up 10 or so feet to break an 8' fluorescent light tube...
After cleaning up the aforementioned mess I STILL persisted in trying to get something accomplished...
My rudder and elevators were covered but still needed reinforcing tape and pop rivets...and I was 12 rivets short of enough to finish.

I drove home slowly. I didn't stop and buy a lottery ticket. And I eased into my garage at a snails pace.
To quote Bugs Bunny; "I shoulda stood in bed".
