Leading Edges

You're close enough to the ACA factory, buying from them and just picking them up is probably the best bet. Aircraft Spruce, Univair or WagAero might have what you need too but then you'd have to pay shipping. Milman offers a leading edge upgrade kit for Citabrias and Champs but you'd have to also do the aluminum spars to install the leading edges.

Congrats on your first post and a belated welcome Steve! Any chance we can prod you to post some pics of what you're working on?

I made my own for a metal spar Cub wing. I chose .020 T3, and bending was a difficult exercise involving a lot of clamps and giant PVC tubes. Original Cub leading edges were .016 soft.

We made new leading edges for a pre-war chief out of .016 2024T3 using 4" pvc pipe and a couple of 1x2 wood with c clamps. Not too difficult at all.
If you have a Champ/Chief Wag Aero has either the stock type or a two piece alternative.
