Going to try and get a field approval to put the McCauley 80/40 prop on a 7gcbc that sits on Scout gear and 29” bushwheels . This prop is approved for the 150 Lyc and airframe when on floats . Anyways , I’m told that I will need all the approved data (337’s) that I can get my hands on to show the Federales . This prop mod has been a popular one and am wondering if I might snag some copies from any of the members here.
Thanks in advance .

Gillie,
I have the same set up on a 1975 7GCBC with a 160 0320 Lycoming and I do not have a 337 form completed for it. In my humble opinion it is not required. I am a A&P I/A and I have been running this same set up here in Alaska for 9 years and I have been ramp checked twice. It was not ever a issue. The prop is approved for your engine and aircraft especially on scout gear. Per 14 CFR 25.925 you need 9 inches of ground clearance with both front tires flat. I am sure you have all of that and more. I have never in my life seen a FAA form more miss interpreted and used to cover your ass by all concerned even the PMI folks, it's just nuts. Under present conditions when the weight of the paper work equals the weight of the aircraft then it's airworthy, right. We need to work together to stop this nonsense! Best to you, Brian in Alaska

P.S. whom is telling you this and what is their justification for it?

He is correct. If you find that prop and engine combination in the TCDS, just cite the paragraphs in your logbook.

If that combination does not appear in the TCDS, then you need approval. But what kind of PMI would know the difference on a ramp check? You could probably get away with it forever.

That is a maintenance release. A 337 is vastly different, and can come in about five flavors. The one you want has an FAA stamp in block 3 with an authorized signature.
