Looking forward to getting my hands back on a stick. Looking to purchase a used 8 or 7 series. Having a hard time convincing brokers that I need to verify that a Lycoming that has set for a long time potentially has lifter/cam corrosion. I understand that 99% of owners do not want a cylinder pulled for good reason. Only a shop with a $4000 torque wrench and the knowledge of how to use it should make an inspection like this. I would rather get a good airframe, good glass, old avionics and a run out engine that qualifies as a core for the purchase of a factory OH or Reman.
