Just took possession of a 7-FC serial number 311 that includes a Milman spar and leading edge kit

I'm located in Wakeman, Ohio. Lots to inventory before rebuild begins.
Most likely will rebuild wings first. Fuselage is already cleaned, inspected and repainted.
All logs since day one. Looking forward to this project. I just retired on November 20

Hello Jeff! Congrats on your retirement, a 7-FC is a great way to stay out of trouble and we'll be looking forward to your photos as you make progress on the spars conversion. I've done that to my 7ECA and there are a couple of others that have as well so please don't be shy about asking questions.

According to wikipedia, the 7FC is the Tri-Traveler, is yours still on tricycle gear or has it been converted to conventional gear?

7FC Tri-Traveler
Champion 7FC Tri-Traveler

In 1957, Champion brought out the 7FC, which is similar to the 7EC but with tricycle landing gear instead of conventional (tailwheel) gear, oleo struts on all 3 wheels, and extra frame bracing for the nosewheel. Factory standard equipment was comparable to the 7EC DeLuxe Traveler. The 7FC is 3 mph (4.8 km/h) slower and 90 lb (41 kg) heavier than an equivalent 7EC,[21] with a standard useful load of 540 lb (245 kg), compared with 630 lb (286 kg) for the 7EC; both use the 90 hp (67 kW) Continental C90-12F engine.[41] Standard gross weight of the 7FC is 1,450 lb (660 kg) with an increase to 1,500 lb (680 kg) allowed with the installation of "Wide Track Main Gear."[42] 472 7FC aircraft were built.

Welcome and good luck with the project!

Hi Bartman
It still has the nose gear set up
I plan on keeping it as original configuration.
Making arrangements to dry ice blast the fuselage frame to remove the powdercoating.
I prefer a true primer/epoxy topcoat paint job due to superior adhesion
Compatible with PolyTak adhesive too.
