New owner to not new 1966 7 gcaa serial #96

Howdy, and Welcome to this forum.

There is a lot of good information to be had on this site. The folks here have helped guide me as well as others over the years, and just ask anything.

Where are you located? I am in Maine personally.

Howdy,

Spent some time in Vero Beach many years ago. Some of my family lives down there. My cousin owns Staski Enterprizes in Vero Beach. He does land clearing and earth moving, etc.

It was a nice place to visit, but I remember almost every afternoon around 4pm, a line of Thunder Storms would roll thru.

If you need any advice, just post it on this forum. I have basically the same plane you have except mine is the very anemic 7ECA with spring gear, 1972 model year. Not much HP. Thinking of a O-360 upgrade.

is there an O-360 STC for the 7 series Citabria or did you mean to say O-320? Has the factory made a 7 series with 180 hp or is that a Scout?

Howdy,

There is a STC for the Citabria 7ECA with Wood Wings to install a O-360 (180 HP) in this airframe.

It is sold by the folks who do the Piper Warrior 180 HP conversion called the "Bold Warrior". https://www.bold-warrior.com

STC is about $1000.00. Best part is that you can still have the wood wing spars. Quite a performer I am told and weight with a lightweight starter, battery, alternator abd such only adds about 12-14 lbs.

Anyway, that is what I have for info. Hope this helps out some folks.
