Has anyone replaced their panel? Seems as though American Champion is installing a flat/flush panel, but older models have what is similar to below (google image). Is there a reason for the protrusion on the right side?

First thing I did. I am guessing, but suspect the protrusion was to give you room for wiring harness access behind the radios. I will look next time the glare shield comes off.

My top radio stack has the corner almost against the mid cowling so moving it back would only work if I moved it down. While the flat panels look great, I like the look of the old school one minus the wood grain.

I’m pretty sure to go to the new ACA panel that you have to reweld that tabs for the mixture, heat, primer, and start button. The new panels are grouped to the one side. One of the main reasons I didn’t go with the new flush one.

The black panel looks awesome.
