Saw the conversation going towards IFR certification in another thread and realized a dedicated sub-forum for instruments and avionics was missing! ADS-B should be here too.

Enjoy. Instruments and avionics are getting lighter and more affordable so the bare-bones instrument panel may be making way for aerobatics-tolerant attitude and directional displays.

:)

Well, the adsb deadline has arrived. My 8gcbc is going in on a Monday for gnx375 install with 2 g-5s. One HSI for the gps course and glide slope and one for attitude indicator, also second sl40 radio for a backup. Also going to get the strobes figured out, new panel light, baggage door and extended baggage kit with relocated and different battery and carbon fiber floorboards. Also time for gear leg bolt replacement, motor mounts and baffling.

Wow Santa was good to you!, please share where you got carbon fiber floor boards? This is second place I have seen them talked about but my searchers come back with nothing. Also I searched for sources for bolts and other hardware it might be nice to have a section for sourcing (what I paid) this should help all in there projects. How often are you replacing the landing gear bolts?

Floorboards come from ACA, all precut. $1150? for the full set. $900 for the middle and front 2 sections. You can’t install a 1 piece rear section with the frame covered and my rear section is in good shape. ACA also has all the parts you need including bolts-Aircraft Spruce also has landing gear bolts. Replacing the bolts depends on how severe of use your gear experiences. I thought 500 hours was recommended. One of mine is bent. Baggage kit came from ACA. Baggage door from Rainbow.

Your old school U bolts are bent or one of the flat bar + 2 AN bolts were bent?

FYI for anyone stumbling across this, when I ordered the new style the page for the bar style said it doesn't include the bolts but it does. It's been quite a while but I think the bolts were $35 each (need 4), so it's not an insignificant difference.

Been flying that way for awhile, since I bought it. Don’t know how they bent it except to overtorque the bolts.
