Is there any reason to do/maintain a pitot/static system check on my airplane that is only certified Day/Night VFR ??? I've done the transponder/encoder check and swung the compass. BTW

No. I do not think there is a requirement to swing a compass, either. You do need a deviation card.

I have tried on several occasions to swing a compass. Turns out I am no good at it, unless I do it airborne on a calm day with a GPS and a check pilot.

Piper had a turntable - they tied the airplane down in level flight attitude with engine running, then swung it. It probably still took 30 min. with two workers. It is not easy if all you have is a compass rose.

It took a while. The tech used a master compass. With me and his Dad turning the airplane to pre-determined headings. With and without the radios on. He took his time adjusting the compass with a brass screwdriver too. All in all, I thought it was good enough for a VFR airplane. The compass correction card is installed... BTW, it seemed to match the GPS on the way home....
