Hi all,
A friend will be traveling soon to pick up his newly restored 7ECA and we were discussing what he should check before making the first flight and heading home. The plane is three states away so he'll fly in, spend some time looking things over and then make the go/no-go decision.
What would you suggest he look and/or do prior to heading for home? Here are a few suggestions I was able to come up with
Very thorough pre-flight inspection
Check the aileron cables that pass through the upper cabin above the rear seat to make sure they aren't under/over the fuselage tubes up there (I believe they're supposed to be under)
Run the engine and check for fuel leaks at the wing roots where the rubber and hard tube joints are
Verify pitch trim cables are rigged correctly and aren't binding
Plan first leg home to be only 45 minutes, land and check to make sure nothing is working loose and that there are no leaks
What else? Thanks!
