Oh boy… I’m heading 4 hrs tomorrow to get a piece of tubing exchanged in my tail section that was pitted then scheduled to travel to the primer / painter guy. I was at the welders last week to get the rainbow skylight tabs etc welded in as well as shoulder harness brackets. I sent Ron pics of what I done on skylight tabs and he said there should be some attachments welded at the trailing edge? I’m missing more parts from rainbow shipment.
I’m wondering if anyone out there can send me some pics of their airframe showing what all they welded and were? Maybe we can fabricate the pieces?
Everytime I head to this shop, it’s a long trip and the guy who does the welding has to travel as well so it’s very costly. Please send pics to my cell if you could even show these trailing edge brackets Ron is talking about. Thanks. 1-204-851-1000 is my cell.

Paully, I'm not familiar with that, does Rainbow have an STC that adds mounting tabs for the skylight panel?

Well, the trailing edge tabs were already on my gcbc, they are the two on either side that stick up about 3/8” inch, then also a aluminum cap on either side on the stringer for the end of the root fairing, so ended up nothing serious, I already have the aluminum caps as well. Then Ron uses a tensioner at the front end that pulls the fairing tight to the glass, almost like stretching it tight.

Bartman ! Does the envelope of fabric mean that the installer does not need to wrap the fabric around the bottom longeron ? Reason I’m asking, I installed the ACA baggage door, and I’m buggered if I can install the bottom support panel from the inside of fusalage? I can install it from outside no problem… it rivets on at the top then a couple screws into the new floorboards . ( I don’t think this panel is necessary anyway since the bag doorframe is welded anyway)
If I was putting in a metal belly then obviously the fabric guy would have to wrap fabric on bottom longeron .
so just to lessen the confusion.. I don’t think I need this panel anyway but curious if you or anyone else has been able to install it after fabric is on ..the rudder cable and its pulley are involved here too !

What is the bottom support panel? Do you mean the rear floor board?

Does the envelope you're using have a bottom to it or is it just the two side panels sewn down the middle? If the bottom panel is sewn into the envelope then I'm pretty sure the whole thing gets slid into place and glued/shrunk as necessary.

Honestly I don’t know, rainbow just asked me if I wanted an envelope and I said ya I guess I do! This is my 1st rebuild so I’m pretty blind at things… I’ve taken many many pics and videos to help… I’ve worked on my own crop duster planes and such for years quietly but never a Citabria rebuild

I tried posting a couple pics of the panel but so far it’s not working.

There I got it, I shrunk the pics a bit , so that black aluminum panel just fits under the baggage door, it gets pop riveted on top and then 3 wood screws into the floorboards.

I'm not sure what that panel is, the ACA scheme doesn't have that panel, it must be a Rainbow thing. The baggage door is the Rainbow STC?

No this is ACA baggage door… I’m calling Chad in the morning… I don’t see the need for it … I could if the bag door was riveted in or clamped in… but it’s welded in and is one of the strongest non structural pieces in the plane now
