Rear Mounted Governor Firewall Pics

Earlier Decathlons and Super D's had the AEIO engines with the rear mounted governor. For the rear mounted governor to fit without hitting the firewall, they cut a hole and attached what they refer to as the dog bowl. It's hard to find a picture of the firewall with the dog bowl and I happened to see two pics at another site so here they are. If you're doing any work forward of the firewall and can add to these pics, please do so! It would be hepful to see how the rear governor is oriented and how/where the prop RPM cable attaches to the governor.

I'm not sure but the other planes with constant speed props might also have had a rear mounted governor before a certain year, probably early to mid 70's when the switch was made. The parts manual probably shows different diagrams with serial numbers that reflect when the change happened.
