Scout Propeller - Fixed or Constant Speed?

For those who have flown the Scout with a fixed pitch and constant speed propeller. Any comments on preference?

Finding a Fixed 2 Blade McCaulley or Borer Prop for the Scout is proving to be not an easy venture. Unless you want to wait 8 weeks for new and $5600.

At this stage we have an opportunity to convert to a Governor and CS Prop. Yes expensive, but the selection of props is more varied and available on the used market.

Might go a little faster in cruise, but you are adding weight. More weight = less performance. Aren't you talking 15 grand for the conversion?

Haven't got that far.

There are only a few CS models stc’d or on the type certificate. Sometimes you will find Hartzell if they are being converted to MT. New is over 15k.
