The airport manager at my new grass strip has 2 young guys from Italy working for him. They came over to the US a few years ago to go to an aviation junior college and get their pilot licenses and IA's. Right now they are A&P's and are working as interns in the new warbird shop here.

They help me with projects on my plane all the time, so I have been promising them I would take them flying in the Decathlon. Finally got all the major squawks done, and Friday night I was doing some T&G's in the pattern when I saw them milling about. I motioned them over and took them up for a quick fam flight one at a time.

Once we got up, some dutch rolls and steep turns. Then I asked, "hey man, have you ever spun an airplane? Want to?" Both said yes, so I gave them 3 or 4 spins each. Taught them how easy it was to initiate and recover in our type aircraft. Smiles from ear to ear when we landed, and lots of high fiving. Truly one of the best experiences of flying to get that kind of reaction.

Which brings me to my point: I am browsing Sporty's and they sell a big ass red placard saying "SPINS PROHIBITED". I am going to make it my mission to find or fabricate a placard which says "SPINS ENCOURAGED." :D
