Thinking hard about pulling the trigger on an AV-30C today.

Does anyone have access to a late-70's Decathlon AFM with an equipment list?

One big appeal of the AV-30C is the ability to switch between AI and DG view. But that mode is only allowed if the AV-30 is not replacing required equipment.

The FAR does not require an AI, TnB, or slip indicator for day and night VFR. But since my aircraft has an AFM with a required equipment list, I need to check that just in case I am missing something. Unfortunately I am in Atlanta and my AFM is in Tampa.
 
8KCAB's were never IFR so I can't imagine there would be anything other than basic VFR instruments listed but you just want to be sure before you commit so I get it. :)
 
Mine is a 1977, and the AFM Lists even the turn/bank/coordinator as optional. No mention of heading or attitude gyros, although somebody penciled in a directional gyro at the end.

My AFM was signed by Keith Anderson on Apr 7, 1977. I bet yours is identical.

Waffled til the last minute, then pulled the trigger last night. Pretty excited. Great feature set for the price, and solves several wants/needs.
 
I had considered it but decided not to. If the remote magnetometer accessory can be added later I'll probably do that when it's legal but not super worried about it either way.

I did decide to send GPS to the ELT so it can blip out location if needed.
