Anyone converted a push-pull mixture to vernier? Any idea what is involved?

I think the new Decathlons have vernier controls. That would mean the update conforms to the TC and is not a modification, right? Or is it a minor mod?

Seems like the only thing preventing it from being a drop in mod would be the bracket at the panel ledge. The threaded shaft on the vernier is larger than the push-pull. I don’t think there is enough material to drill out the bracket to the larger hole size. Maybe someone has rigged up a bracket for the bracket.

My '65 Citabria had a vernier mixture and so did the one (early 70s) I flew many years ago. I didn't know it was a thing.

I have a push-pull but flew a newer (2014, or so) Super D with a vernier mixture. Vernier is better, clearly. Had this on my list to address. Have no idea what is involved.

I installed one in my scout. There was plenty of material to drill the hole out from 1/2" to 3/4" in that plane.

I have decided that I will be leaving a ratchet style in the 7GCBC I own now. Being carb'd, There really isn't any "fine tuning" in the mixture.... the regular ratchet style does good enough.

Installed one in my Scout also. No issue. I find it very helpful in adjusting cylinder head temp and fuel flow.

Probably not something I could take advantage of with my current instrumentation, which is just a single EGT gauge. Am considering upgrading my panel with GEM and FF instruments. That would be the time to add the vernier.
