Looking for a set of used original style landing gear u-bolts. Just want to install them while the fuselage is being painted, they don't need to be airworthy.

Thanks!
Bart

Just drill a couple pieces of cold rolled or aluminumand use carriage bolts? Even wood would hold it.

the old style bolts are nice and thin so when I paint and then install the new style hardware it'll look like the gear was removed for the paint work.

The plane will be staying on its gear while the fuselage is being painted so it needs to be attached pretty well.

Just curious on how you are going to paint the aft part of the belly. A couple years ago I painted a Cessna 150 and had to shimmy on the concrete floor to get a good finish. (HVLP)

I had the prop off and let the vertical stab come up and rest against the ceiling in my garage. got down on the floor and slinked around until it looked like it had enough paint on it. After it was done it looked like it could have used a little more.

****be advised****
with the prop/cowl off and the tail feathers and tailwheel off, the plane is pretty close to being nose heavy enough to want to rest on the nose instead of the tail so be careful with it. :)

and I did end up with a set of old u-bolts so I'm good. if anyone wants to use them during painting for their project I can mail them.
