Wanted to buy Citabria

How familiar are you with the different models (ECA, GCAA, KCAB, GCBC, etc.)

There's a '65 7ECA (100 hp, oleo strut gear legs, no flaps) for sale on Barnstormers, sounds decent and not super expensive but there aren't a lot of details in the ad listing.

You should be able to get a nice J3 or 7AC for that price. A fair 7ECA with spring steel gear might still be in your price range. These are investments - unlike automobiles, these things increase in value over time.

Well, then, think Decathlon. Use the Cub for local, and the Dec for X-C. If I had to do it over I would be lusting for 160 C/S. Just as fast as the 180 with less fuel burn.
