WT & BAL

Miss texted
Nose heavy
Removing 20 gal for BFR
Then question is full fuel with passenger
How is it done legally?

I have a 1000+ hrs in the Citabria
That was always a given, but this CFI wanted a wt/bal and though they get exceptions for deer in Alaska my plane is nose heavy and that is his problem
Going to drain fuel for this flight, but what are your thoughts

Nose heavy CG is not a big deal. Aft CG different story.

If you are under gross, adding ballast to the baggage compartment will move the CG.

My thought is find a different CFI. That one is too fat, and too inflexible. Find a 150 lb CFI, and put 50 pounds of bags in the baggage area. Problem solved!

Lemme get home and play with this. I have 531 # of useful load. Full fuel is always a problem. Especially with two “lardasses” It can’t be done. But cg isn’t a problem. Gross is another issue. If I stay within gross cg isn’t a problem. Just saying.

🤣 So true
Thanks

All of these Champs can easily be overloaded. None except maybe the Scout can haul two normal size guys and full fuel.

That said, go back to your original factory numbers, then do some math for additions/subtractions - that may move your CG.

We have this problem with Cubs - too many data, and mechanics mix them.

You know it!
I've always filled tanks
Safety/less moisture
Flown for many years with a buddy
Back to wt & bal
Love to fly that girl!

I just want to recomend a fantastic app for W&B it's called "CG Finder". Once you enter yout information 1 time, you can use sliders to watch what happens to CG and weight, if is fun to use.
