This upgrade definitely falls in the, "If I'd known then what I know now" category. It's been a painful 18 mos. effort and I'm approaching the end of this soiree (please flying gods let it be so). STC specifics were lacking and many, many creative "2 steps back & 1 step forward" were required. For a lot of reasons, swapping the O-235 for an O-320 on my 7ECA required a specific McCauley climb prop. After I paid $345 to have a crack in the current polished aluminum spinner fixed (it looks great), I found out the new prop requires a different spinner (one of them 2 steps back). VERY very hard to find that spinner, but located a used one painted white. First choice would be to strip the white off and polish up the aluminum. If blemishes make that a poor choice, what say you? Strip and repaint it white, paint it matching red or paint it silver? Some folks out there might not think that's a big deal. I'm not talking to you. I'm talking those guys that get it. Take a look at Cap'n Red and tell me what ya think?
