1976 8KCAB max gross weight for normal category

I am selling my 1976 Decathlon and my broker told me he thought they had a max gross of 1950 ibs for the normal category and 1800 lbs for aerobatic category. However, my POH says 1800 lbs for both categories. Were some models of that vintage rated for a higher gross weight in the normal category for some reason?

Hi Hal

Any airplanes with wood spar wings and steel gear have a single weight limit for both categories, 1800 lbs.

ACA and even Bellanca planes with both the ACA metal spar wings and the newer aluminum gear legs have the two limits you listed.
